Who Is Eric Latham?

Eric M. Latham is a lover of long walks for good causes.

In 2005, he walked across America, from Nags Head, North Carolina to San Francisco, to increase awareness of cancer research and raise money for research. By the time he reached San Francisco, he had walked 3,591 miles over 206 days, and raised more than $21,000 for cancer research.

Since then, he has organized several more walks and wrote two books. The first, Take Steps with a Purpose, is about his walk across America. The second, Entitled to a Nation, is based on a single question Eric posed to thousands of Americans: What do you think the most important issue is facing America?

Eric and his wife Kat moved to Johnson City, Tennessee in 2011 to start a company called Intellectual Property Executives (IPE). Its mission is to develop health-related technologies. Since then, they founded a second company called New River Naturals, which manufactures and wholesales vitamins and supplements across the U.S. And, in 2014, Eric and Kat founded Johnson City Brewing Company.

Since moving to Tennessee in 2011, Eric has always wanted to walk across the Volunteer State. Beginning August 26, 2017, he will attempt to do so, from Mountain City to Memphis, to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This walk is scheduled to conclude on October 1, 2017.

Eric and Kat have two daughters, who are five and three years old.

Please consider donating to St. Jude and walking with Eric, even for a mile or two!
